– Pro-Biafrans embarrassed Governor Okorocha at
Chatham House in London
– The governor’s speech concerns free education
programme
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state was at
Chatham House March 9 to give a speech but he was
greatly embarrassed by pro-Biafrans.
Okorocha’s free education programme from primary to
University level and his concerted effort at Human
Capital Development Initiatives in the state had
occasioned the interest of the London based Chatham
House to invite him to talk on the referenced topic.

However, when the governor was delivering his
speech, a supporter of the Indigenous People of Biafra
with a Biafran flag came to the podium agitating that no
one is doing anything about the plight of Biafrans in
Nigeria. He was immediately rushed by other
participants at the event as they clashed with him while
trying to push him out of the hall.
The governor had traveled with very few senior
government officials to witness the historic event and
they are expected back to Nigeria during the weekend.
He had equally asked for the prayers of the citizens of
the ctate to make the outing successful and for God’s
journey mercy.

The arrest of Radio Biafra director Nnamdi Kanu
renewed struggle for the Republic of Biafra in Nigeria
and outside the country.
Almost 50 years after the Biafran war which almost
destroyed the unity of Nigeria, its supporters have
refused to give up the struggle.
It constituted the former Eastern region of Nigeria and
was inhabited principally by Igbo (Ibo) people.
Imo is one of the states that that Biafra agitators want.
